My name is Clem Onojeghuo. I’m a photographer, husband, dad, drinker of tea, not coffee and lover of film and music. Someone once told me, ‘if you do what you have always done, you’d get what you’ve always got’. Creatively speaking, rules restrict and constrain me, so I find myself exploring ways to circumnavigate them. Compelled by the insatiable desire to document the banal things of everyday life in a language shrouded by ambiguity and mystery. I’m inspired mostly by great artists, particularly from the abstract expressionism movement of the 50s as well as some great photographers who pioneered the use of colour film in the early 40s and 50s. Their work, ethos and passion helps frame my world view as well as pushes me to become a better photographer. Street photography has also inspired and driven my commercial work, with various high profile commisioned works flowing from skills built from my street and urban photography.
